THE SUZUKI PHILOSOPHY

Believes that learning music is like learning a language. Students learn by listening: they listen to Suzuki CDs and play by ear, observing and emulating the teacher’s playing. The method emphasizes careful listening, repetition, and encouragement. Students become comfortable with their instrument before learning to read music. A supportive environment is essential: the parent works closely with the teacher and the student.
